Welcome to the Purdue Women’s Club Website

          The Purdue Women’s Club (PWC) is a 90-year old social and philanthropic organization with over 500 members. Membership is open to all women interested in Purdue and the Greater Lafayette Community. We strive to make our Website user friendly with lots of information about PWC. We hope you will enjoy your visit.

Our purpose is:

• To promote intellectual interests and to provide the opportunity for association among our members;
• To furnish organized opportunities for educational, cultural, and recreational activities;
• To actively support women seeking to continue their education at Purdue through annual contributions from PWC to the Span Plan;
• To further the interests of the University.
  
  

What we do:

          Each year, through our dues and fundraising activities, we contribute significant funds to the Span Plan which provides grants of varying amounts to women returning to further their education at Purdue. 

          Members of similar interests are brought together by PWC within its 40+ vibrant Interest Groups, providing opportunities for activities and friendship. Please click on Interest Groups to the left to see the incredible range of our current groups. Any Interest Group Chair is available for more information and, once you have joined PWC, you are welcome to attend the Interest Groups.

          We have a lively Newcomers group. Newcomers members can be new to the community, Purdue, or new to Purdue Women’s Club. Throughout the year, monthly meetings introduce newcomers to each other and different aspects of the Greater Lafayette community.

          Two all-member luncheons are held each year at the Purdue Memorial Union Ballrooms. The Fall Luncheon is preceded by an Interest Group Fair where you can speak with members from each Interest Group and sign up to be a part of groups. Dates and registration forms are available if you click on PWC Luncheons. For the upcoming club year, the dates are September 18, 2013, and April 9, 2014, with registration open until one week before the event. Additionally, all members are welcomed monthly to get together at area restaurants with the Ladies Lunch Out group or the Dinner Out group, which is a new group this year!

          PWC also has a number of Discover Series events throughout the year. These are a mix of lectures or discussions on widely varying subjects or explorations of artistic endeavors. See the PWC Newsletter for details.

          Educational Excursions takes us to wonderful places within Indiana and nearby twice annually. The Wednesday after Thanksgiving we take a private bus to Chicago; some people shop, some attend plays or go to museums, while others visit with friends.

          We sincerely invite you to make new friends and follow the adventure along with Purdue Women’s Club. The membership info is at the Membership Form link and we would be pleased to have you join us!
